The COMPO EXPERT R&D Center coordinates COMPO EXPERT´s world-wide research activities in more than 20 countries in Europe, the Middle East, North and South America as well as Asia and Oceania. Additionally, it is responsible for the innovation management and the training and further education of the staff. The R&D Center managed by its head, Dr. Georg Ebert, conducts a large number of tests in greenhouses and open-field areas of the Training Center for Horticulture and Agriculture in Münster-Wolbeck of the Chamber of Agriculture of North Rhine Westphalia.
In its capacity as an interface between research and product development, the R&D´s task is to accelerate the realization of new ideas turning them into innovative products and to ensure a more efficient transfer of knowledge within the realm of exchange activities with customers and scientific authorities domestically and abroad. Research priorities relate to coated and partly coated fertilizers in horticulture and forestry plantations, the testing of new active substances as well as the fertilizer management in fertigation systems. Other fields of work of the R&D Center are topics such as the use of bio- and nanotechnologies for leaf and soil fertilizers and the development of new bio-stimulants against environmental stress. The experiments are predominantly carried out in collaboration with renowned and independent test and research authorities. The efficiency of COMPO EXPERT products are tested not only in different climate zones, but also under various cultivation conditions.
COMPO staff came to obtain information
In July 2013, the employees of COMPO had the opportunity to obtain information on the experimentation and testing programmes conducted by the R&D Center of COMPO EXPERT. On the experimental turf area, the product manager, Dr. Fritz Lord, explained the importance of the right care management for sports turf areas. A field experiment was shown on the golf course green using a Wetting Agent product that increased the water absorption of the soil. Other topics, included showing the effect of Basacote® applied fertilizer using transparent root chambers, as well as other horticultural experiments conducted in both field and greenhouse.
